Excavation and concrete pictures

Utilities under the driveway.

Steve and Mike, our builders. These guys are great.

We have a driveway! Yay!

The house gets staked out.

Some of the excavation crew that dug the hole for the foundation, and
put in the utilities.

Here is what the house will sit on, and some of the good folks that
made it possible.

Here is a picture looking from the cliff face. Notice the two cracks -
one on the lower right, and the other that looks like the step in the
middle of the house.
They caused us lots of worry and time delays.

Here is the cement crew that made our crawl space. Wonderful
folks. They did a great job. They are Advance
Concrete out
of Durango, and I would highly recommend them.

Forms for the footers. Notice how many holes had to be drilled into the
rock. Ouch - these folks worked hard!

More forms for the footers. This is the back deck and back of the great
room area.

Footers and rebar.

Crawl space forms. These have to be put up with rebar between them.
The tallest walls ended up about 13 feet tall.

More crawl space forms.

Pouring the crawl space walls. Note the guy on top of the
walls.

Wow, what a "crawl space". The house floor will fit on top of the
cement walls behind this guy.

Me, leaning on the walls under the back deck.

Looks like a construction site!

The front porch cement floor will be over her head.
